Make Change

Spring 2020 to Fall 2021

Make Change is a visual record of a dark and turbulent year, spanning Spring 2020 to Fall 2021. These images began as Instagram posts: a way of coping, of shouting into the void when chaos, fear, and uncertainty defined daily life.

The work is influenced by the artists and voices that have long made sense of unrest: Barbara Kruger, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Public Enemy, The Clash, Bowie. Their art and music are the lens through which protest and upheaval can be understood.

The book moves through the pandemic, protest, and political upheaval with stark black-and-white imagery and sharp contrasts. It is at once a diary, a scream, and a reflection on what it means to remain human when humanity itself feels under threat.
